Writing is a great outlet of healing and revelation.

I have always had an urge in my spirit to write - part of the reason I spent nearly three years in the newspaper industry - but I always loved to step away from my time reporting on events and doing investigations to do more creative projects.

As it is with many people, it took some events with great emotions behind them to kick start my creative process again.

I have been privileged to have participated in several Open Mic Nights including nights at the Chicory Cafe' in Downtown South Bend and at the Mishawaka Res which were hosted by Ms. Pam Blair - MC Extraordinaire.

Being able to participate along side people like Groshonda Fitzpatrick, Sue Barnard, Shay Nothstine, Zorina Frey and BeyondThaMessenger has been a blessing and an encouragement.

I publish new pieces on my blog - Nickles and Dimes which is named that because sometimes only tossing in your Two Cents just isn't enough.
